After the release of Windows Vista, on 20th July 2007 Microsoft confirmed that the internal name for the next version of the Windows Client operating system was Windows 7, the name had been reported by some sources months before. And then on 13th October 2008 it was announced that Windows 7 would also be the official name of the next operating system designed and developed by Microsoft.  According to the vice president of Windows product management Mike Nesh, the decision to use the name Windows 7 is due to the simplicity, and due to the fact that it is the seventh release of Windows series so that's why it is named as Windows 7.

Windows 7 includes a number of amazing and useful features such as support for virtual hard disk, enhanced boot performance, improved performance on multi core processors, kernel improvements, advancements in touch, handwriting and speech recognition. A number of new items have been added to Control panel such as ClearType Text Tuner, Accelerators, Display Color Calibration Wizard, Infrared, Troubleshooting, Workspaces Center, Gadgets, System Icons, Biometric devices, Credential manager, Location and Other Sensors. Windows Security Center has been renamed as the Windows Solution Center.
